Ready, action, and rolling. A new adventure for the Neoneli group of ancient masks, Sos Corrolos. In recent days, some members have taken part in the filming of "Hidden Shoes," a movie about immigration that Italian-Swiss director Rolando Colla is shooting in Sardinia and Switzerland.

The film, produced by Peacock Film and Minerva in co-production with Terra de Punt and in collaboration with the Sardegna Film Commission, is set in the 1960s, when many villages on the island were emptying and many people left to seek their fortunes in the North and abroad. The historic center of Giave, on June 22nd, was the location chosen to film the carnival balls, where, along with other masked groups, Sos Corriolos of Neoneli played a leading role. Wearing 1960s civilian clothes, they also took part in a church funeral scene.

"Being part of the making of a film was truly exciting, especially because it deals with the topic of immigration, a deeply rooted theme for our Sardinian towns, including Neoneli," comments SOS Corriolos President Alessandro Cossu. "It has contributed so much, both personally and to the association, and for all of us it has been an unforgettable experience that has enriched us culturally. Now we are eagerly awaiting the film."

See you on the big screen then.
