" Sardinia needs to review its statute and this is an opportunity to redefine and extend the island's powers and self-government powers ". This is Christian Solinas' position on the differentiated autonomy bill.

Today the President of the Region reiterated it directly to the father of the law text, Minister Roberto Calderoli who, before the meeting in the Sardinian Assembly with the majority councillors, stopped at Villa Devoto. "Right from the start - explained the governor - we said that the debate on differentiated autonomy would have been an opportunity for us to relaunch the theme of the specialty".

With the minister, «in parallel with the regulatory process of the Regions with ordinary statute, we discussed carrying forward a process that reviews Sardinia's responsibilities, adapts them to the needs claimed for some time on major issues such as major transport networks, language and the culture of Sardinia , and a series of other skills ranging from landscape protection to that of cultural and environmental assets which are historical battles that Sardinia has always carried out to claim an ever greater threshold of autonomy".

After the meeting with Solinas Calderoli he declared that « Sardinia is one of the regions that can benefit the most from the law because, being a region with a somewhat particular special statute - because it has equal or lower powers than the regions with ordinary statute - it can draw benefits not only to guarantee the same services that are guaranteed throughout the national territory, but also in a growth perspective".

In the meantime, the Calderoli table with the majority forces has ended in the Regional Council. The minister will leave for Rome in the afternoon.
