Solidarity, encounter, knowledge, sharing : these are the values that inspire the concept of cultural foster care , a project that has already been successfully tested in other Italian cities and which also reaches Cagliari .

The initiative, selected by the "Con i Bambini" association as part of the Fund for the contrast of juvenile educational poverty, is implemented in the Sardinian capital thanks to the commitment of the Panta Rei Sardinia Cooperative with the Outsiders Project and the adhesion of over 25 cultural realities of the territory , between companies and associations.
The basic idea is very simple: a parent, who usually goes to cinemas, theaters, museums or libraries with their children, also brings with them a child or a boy who would not be able to access these places due to economic difficulties of a linguistic nature. or other. This creates the possibility of offering cultural opportunities to the very young and often also to their families, while at the same time strengthening relationships and bonds, in a solid and concrete vision of society.

"The idea was born from our previous experience in family coaching ", says the vice president of Panta Rei Sardinia, Marta Chessa . “Still as part of a national project financed by CiB, we had the opportunity to experience family coaching according to the 'A family for a family' model of the Paideia Foundation in Turin. Family coaching was a formidable experience that helped improve the well-being of 8 children (each family coaching lasts one year). The idea of cultural custody completes our family solidarity actions and for this reason it seemed like a magnificent opportunity. "

THE PROJECT - The peculiarity of the Cagliari project lies precisely in further enhancing the concept of network and involvement of the territory : the cultural exhibitors who join will be paid with a tool called "LocalPay" and which has been implemented by Sardex, which is also partner of Outsiders. The characteristic of LocalPay is the possibility of networking the merchants who join the project at no cost and allocating 3% of what received in LocalPay to projects designed by children. No expense even for people who intend to become "cultural custodians": through LocalPay , families have a budget to spend by the cultural exhibitors who join the network.
Cultural foster care “ can be done by everyone - specifies Chessa - single people, couples and families. Currently Panta Rei Sardegna has a network of people and families available to be a resource for other families and other children but we need the network of family solidarity to grow ". "Everyone - continues Chessa - gives as much time as possible for a boy or girl who risks not having equal access to the cultural resources of the city".

The invitation, therefore, for those who want to join the initiative, is to contact Panta Rei Sardegna.
