The date of the release of the video is not accidental: the Liberation Day for Italy. Best wishes to Iranian brothers and sisters as we succeed in the hard struggle to assert their freedom. The initiative of the Teatro e\o Musica Cooperative, with the support of the Sardinia Foundation, aims to raise awareness of the public opinion on the situation in Iran through a testimony of the musical, theatre, literary and dance arts of Sardinia.
The making of the 11-minute video involved the "Cappella Musicale don Gino Porcheddu" choir, the "Estemporada" ballet, the violist Gioele Lumbau, the singer Carla Denule and the actress Maria Antonietta Azzu, interpreters of songs from Sardinian popular culture from a feeling of closeness to the glorious culture of Iran. Each artist involved gave his personal contribution free of charge. The cooperative made available the sound and lighting systems and the technical and logistical assistance necessary for the creation of the clip.
In a Verdi theater without an audience, the Estemporada dance company staged a choreography, curated by Livia Lepri, which recounted the condition of denied freedom of Iranian women slaves of a regime that does not allow them any possibility of free expression. The same message of appeal to free culture for young Iranian women and young men was launched by the actress Maria Antonietta Azzu and was then transformed into song through the interpretation of Carla Denule and the don Gino Porcheddu choir and into melody by the violist Joel Lumbau.
