The President of the Sardinia Region Alessandra Todde increases the consensus obtained on the day of the elections at the end of February 2024, when she had won with 45.4% of the preferences. Now she rises by 1.1% to 46.5%, but she is only 15th among the 18 governors included in the Governance Poll ranking on the approval of the mayors and governors, carried out by the Noto Sondaggi polling institute for the Sole 24 Ore.

The Five Star Movement member is seventh, second among the centre-left governors, in terms of increased consensus compared to election day .

As for Sardinian mayors , to find one you have to get to 34th place where there is Massimo Mascia (Sassari), with 55% of the consensus, +3.9 in a year. Ex aequo with him Massimo Zedda, who however has lost more than 5% of the consensus since the day of the elections, when he was at 60.3% .

In 59th place, again for the center-left, Pietro Morittu, mayor of Carbonia, who loses 12.8% going from 65.8% to 53%, while in 84th place is Massimiliano Sanna (Oristano), who leads a center-right council: also for him a drop, of 5.2% (from 54.2% to 49%) . Nuoro does not appear in the ranking, where the elections were held at the beginning of June 2025 and where the five-star Emiliano Fenu won.

The rankings

On the Governors front , Massimiliano Fedriga, president of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and of the Conference of the Regions, confirmed his first place, followed by Luca Zaia from Veneto .

Alberto Cirio, Governor of Piedmont, wins the bronze medal, completing a podium monopolized by the center-right of the North. In fourth place, instead, the center-left governor of Tuscany Eugenio Giani who sees his consensus grow by 6.5 points compared to last year and by more than 13% in 2023. The numbers also reward Francesco Acquaroli in the Marche: with a jump of 7.5% in 2024.

As for the mayors, Marco Fioravanti (Ascoli Piceno) leads, with Michele Guerra (Parma), winner last year, in second place. Closing the podium, on equal footing, are Vito Leccese , at his first attempt in the Governance Poll after being elected mayor of Bari last year, and the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi , a regular at the top of the rankings (in 2024 he was second), who is now also president of Anci. In the last places are the mayors of the cities of the South, while as far as Milan is concerned, Giuseppe Sala climbs ten positions to ninth place .

The method

It should be remembered that the Governance Poll is not an electoral survey, but a survey that measures the willingness to re-elect mayors and presidents of the Regions in office, without proposing alternative candidates. A survey, therefore, that measures the approval of mayors and governors in office.
