Imagination demands power. Now Gianluca Gaetano can see the goal from afar, but he's happier. He loves the city, the team, the atmosphere; Napoli is in his heart, but Cagliari is in his blood. And the prospects look good.
He's enjoying one of the brightest moments of his time at Cagliari. Moving back has changed his approach on the pitch: "I'm having more fun, I'm touching the ball more," he says, explaining how his new role is bringing him positive feelings and consistency. He sees a higher quality in Pisacane's Cagliari than in recent seasons, thanks in part to the additions of Esposito and Folorunsho.
Gaetano speaks fondly of the city that adopted him, a bond born in the six months with Ranieri that has now become a lifelong commitment. However, he doesn't forget the most difficult moment: his wife's accident in the seventh month of her pregnancy, a tremendous fear that was then transformed into joy with the birth of little Mattia and his little sister.
A creative midfielder, inspired by Marek Hamsik since he was a boy, he doesn't consider himself a goalscorer: "My job is to make the team play well." And he looks to the national team without obsession, but with ambition. He has a strong relationship with his teammates and the fans, whom he never stops thanking. Now his focus is on Genoa: "We need those three points. We'll give it our all."
