Season over for Jannik Sinner.

"My doctors and I have decided that I need to undergo treatment for an inflammation in my knee," the world number one announced on his social media profiles. "That's why my 2026 season is over."

It has been decided, his management informs, to carry out the treatment now to give Sinner the necessary time to recover before starting his preparations for 2027.

Sinner will therefore also miss the ATP Finals in Turin, which he won in 2025 and 2026, and will be overtaken at the top of the ATP rankings by German Alexander Zverev.

Jannik's final triumph of the season was the Wimbledon final, a four-set victory over Zverev that had given him his second consecutive triumph on the courts of the All England Club.
