Jannik Sinner reached his first career final in Indian Wells. The world No. 2 defeated Germany's Alexander Zverev in the semifinals in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, in one hour and 23 minutes of play.

"A great result," the Italian said after the match. "Being in the final for the first time here is important for me. I'm extremely happy to have done better in this tournament this week. It was the tournament I missed the most last year."

Now the challenge this evening with Medvedev (from 10pm on Sky), who interrupted Carlos Alcaraz's perfect start to 2026, surprisingly defeating the world number one with the score of 6-3, 7-6 (7/3).

Sinner now has the chance to win and become the third player, after Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, to win all six ATP Masters 1000 tournaments on hard courts. Sinner won his first Masters 1000 title on this surface, in Canada in 2023. He has since triumphed twice at the Australian Open (2024 and 2025) and twice at the Nitto ATP Finals (2024 and 2025). In 2024, he triumphed in Miami and Cincinnati. Indian Wells remains the only "Big Title" on hard courts he has yet to win.
