Jannik Sinner won his 22nd ATP title, defeating world number 3 Alexander Zverev in the final on the indoor hard court in Vienna after a hard-fought comeback victory. And in his closing remarks, he "officially" introduced his girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, to the crowd.
The South Tyrolean won with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in two and a half hours of play , which was also affected by a probable problem with blisters on the feet of the South Tyrolean, who often limped.
Zverev got off to a great start, taking an early 4-1 lead and having two break points to make it 5-1. Jannik made a save, but the German served well and closed the set 6-3. In the second set, Sinner took the lead early, closing with the same score.
In the third set, the Italian held serve fairly comfortably and failed to capitalize on two break points at 2-all. No big deal, because the decisive break came in the eleventh game, then Jannik held serve to love and closed out the match , thus winning his 22nd ATP title, his fourth of 2025 after the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and Beijing. This was Sinner's second victory in the Austrian ATP 500 tournament, having already won in Vienna in 2023.
The Italian champion, who then officially introduced his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic, confirmed the gossip about his relationship with the Danish model : "This is a very important victory for me, and I'm happy to have won another title. It was a great performance. The final started badly, but I tried to stay mentally glued to the match. The most important thing was to try not to give up and stay there. I tried to make the right choices at the right times, and the key was to serve well and conserve energy on my service games . This victory makes me feel great."
Then his family and girlfriend: "I thank my team for their support, even in difficult times. I know it's not easy. My family is here too, my girlfriend. Thanks also to everyone who cheered me on from home." In the early rounds of the Austrian tournament, Hasanovic sat in the Sinner family box, next to the tennis player's mother and father, who, however, deflected questions about her presence. Today, however, Sinner "came out" during the awards ceremony.
