Sinner's triumph and the possible appeal of the World Anti-Doping Agency, WADA, against the acquittal sentence issued by the independent body Itia.

The facts: on August 19, the International Tennis Integrity Agency issued a judgment of “total lack of guilt or negligence” for the percentage of Clostebol detected in Sinner's urine and blood, double positivity found on March 10 and 18, total acquittal also thanks to the evidence provided by the Italian athlete in relation to the accidental intake of the drug, the circumstances and the absolute unawareness of the player himself.

The deadline for Wada to appeal to the CAS in Lausanne is set at midnight today . In other words, an appeal - in short - against the acquittal. Wada has in the past appealed against sentences of international federations, Olympic committees and even state anti-doping bodies, it has happened over forty times, but it has never questioned a decision of an independent agency that works as a "third" subject for dozens of international sports federations.

In its appeal, if it were presented by tonight, Wada might not ask for the sentence to be overturned but would aim for a partial recognition of guilt - which would lead to 4, 5 months of disqualification if accepted - going to "strike" that passage of the sentence where it is not explained why in the staff, despite the great expertise in the matter, a prohibited product was circulating that would have, if used even indirectly, put the integrity of the athlete at risk.

From Switzerland, the headquarters of WADA, there are no rumors about the agency's possible actions.
