The great moment of Italian tennis also “involves” the Tennis Club Cagliari, which confirms its first place in Sardinia and among the first in Italy, according to the 2024 rankings just published by the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation. The Monte Urpinu club is in ninth place among the Top Schools, thanks to the great numbers of the Tennis School.
"A prestigious result that honors us - underlines the councilor Lodovica Binaghi - and makes it clear how the Tc Cagliari is increasingly a virtuous reality on a national scale". Over three hundred members from 4 to 18 years old, 20 are those who follow the Padel School and there were 2,320 children from the primary schools of Cagliari and the hinterland who participated in the project "Racquets in class" during the last school year, with the pleasant novelty of being able to learn more about padel.
"Congratulations, as every year, to our qualified staff of teachers and trainers", underlines Binaghi, "our goal is to ensure that this club continues to grow and continue to be a point of reference for the city and for Sardinia". But the boundaries are expanding, because the number of young, high-level non-Sardinian tennis players who choose the Cagliari Tennis Club to train is also growing, a development of competitive activity that rewards the work of the technicians and increases the possibilities of comparison for our young players.
In 2025, Tc Cagliari will participate in the A1, A2 and B2 women's series championships, the B1 and B2 men's series, the C men's and women's series, the D men's and women's series (six teams) and with various teams in the Under 10, 12, 14 and 16 men's and women's championships.
"But this work on the purely competitive sector and the growth of our children does not make us forget the practice of tennis for adults too", underlines the councilor, "we organize throughout the year the courses for adults of tennis and padel, very popular and open to all with the teacher Andrea Lecca, we are over one hundred members". The goal is to stay at the top and do well in the national championships: "We are amateur managers, but supported by a large staff of excellent professionals".
