The opening night of the third season of “Incontri di montagna”, the thematic cycle created by Marco Mura (Runner Escursionista) and Amos Cardia (Sardinia Biking) – hosted since 2022 in the municipal library of Sinnai – had as its guest last night Alberto Murgia, a young man from Villacidro who at the age of 19 set off by bike from his hometown to reach Cape North. A journey that lasted six months, which saw him celebrate his 20th birthday with temperatures below zero. A long ride of 14 thousand kilometers through several Nordic countries, almost always sleeping in a tent.

During the journey on two wheels Murgia came into contact with people who sometimes gave him hospitality, which he then reciprocated with useful work for the family, including shovelling snow. Within these experiences, there was also a working interlude with husky dogs. "Alberto - says Marco Mura - today thrilled us with his stories: an extraordinary boy who promises new adventures".

Words, photos and videos lit up the conference room of the Sinnai library, thus taking the audience along the itinerary on which Murgia traveled. Many questions also guaranteed a useful insight into the experience narrated on this and previous trips, always in the name of slow tourism. The second appointment of "Mountain Encounters" scheduled for November 22, 2024 (6:00 p.m.) will have Sergio Mascia as its protagonist, who will present his book "Beyond the mountains. My trip to Santiago de Compostela".
