"No to wind turbines on our coasts". The municipal councils of Arbus and Fluminimaggiore are against the Shardana project, presented in recent days to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security. A company based in London (Renewables Energies Ltd) intends to build a gigantic offshore park in front of the coast of Capo Pecora, Scivu, Piscinas and Portixeddu with 55 wind towers of 18 MW each 320 meters high.

The Fluminiaggiore City Council opposes yet another project on the energy speculation front. The assembly unanimously approved a motion presented by the environmental councilor Francesca Usai.

And in Arbus, meanwhile, the promise was kept last night : the project was sent back to the sender with a unanimous vote of the City Council which - urgently convened - said no to the giant wind turbines in front of the splendid dunes of Piscinas.
