Willis Furtado's announcement was not long in coming. A few hours after that of defender Marcos Chazarreta, the official announcement of the Cape Verdean striker to Olbia has arrived.

“Olbia Calcio 1905 announces that it has acquired the rights to the sports performances of Luis Willis Alves Furtado, a striker born in 1997,” reads the note issued this afternoon by the Gallura club. “Last season, Furtado wore the jersey of Floriana, the Maltese First Division, where he stood out, scoring 7 goals and 6 assists in 14 appearances. Trained in France – it continues – he has gained experience playing in various countries, including Scotland, Norway and Finland. Welcome to Olbia Willis!”.

A right winger who can adapt to the left and the role of attacking midfielder, with dual Cape Verdean and French nationality (he was born in Ivry-sur-Seine, a few km from the centre of Paris) and great physique and pace, Furtado has been training for days with the rest of the team that is preparing for its debut in the Serie D championship. For him, Olbia represents his first experience in Italy.
