October is a derby season for Olbia, who, after playing Latte Dolce on Sunday at the Nespoli stadium for the sixth round of Serie D, will face Budoni at home on October 26th. In between, they'll travel to Montespaccato and play a home game against Flaminia Civitacastellana.

Looking at the standings, the toughest matchup is against Sassari, who are coming off a home win against Flaminia and are third with 10 points, one point behind leaders Scafatese and Trastevere. Olbia are two points behind, so at Nespoli they'll have a chance to overtake Michele Fini's team, the most in-form of the Sardinian teams.

With the defeat at Nocera Inferiore, the league's top-seeded team, the Whites returned to training today to prepare for the first derby of the season. The condition of several players remains to be assessed, including Matteo Lucarelli, who missed the match against Nocerina, and others who were injured on Sunday. Giancarlo Favarin gave a few minutes to new signing Remus Bobocea, who came on in the second half for Flaviano Modesti.

Speaking of the transfer market, which Olbia remains vigilant about—the goal is to complete the squad available to Favarin, particularly in attack— the summer transfer window for amateur clubs closes today. Starting tomorrow, it will be possible to tap into the free agent market, and with this in mind, outgoing deals are not ruled out. Before signing any more players, Olbia will need to trim down its squad, especially since a couple of players—such as Cristian Anelli and Giulio Jack Marroni, the latter only used in the Coppa Italia—are clearly out of the picture.
