The outcome of Covisod's review of the documentation Olbia submitted last Thursday to its application for admission to the 2025/26 Serie D is expected today.

Since the club hasn't paid the May salaries, the players' releases are missing, so their exclusion is certain. However, by paying the outstanding monthly salary by 2:00 PM on Monday, Olbia has a chance of being readmitted to the championship.

Compared to a year ago, when the application form was missing everything, including the registration fee and a surety bond, the situation is less complicated.

This doesn't mean that if the Swiss owners find the funds to settle their arrears and complete the documentation by the July 21st deadline, Olbia will pay the price: a fine of €5,000 and a two-point penalty in the league table. The lesser of two evils if the alternative is starting over in the lower leagues or, worse, bankruptcy in the 120th year since its founding. Meanwhile, all is quiet on the corporate front.

According to rumors, Benno Räber, head of the sports project and a member of the Olbia Calcio board of directors, has found the necessary support abroad to secure the payment of the outstanding monthly salary and Serie D promotion for Olbia. This support, however, is not coming from Turkish financier Murat Yilmaz, who, despite denials, has withdrawn. However, once the club has secured promotion, SwissPro could open the door to the sale of the club, of which it holds 70 percent. This is in the knowledge that former president Alessandro Marino and his associates, Alexandre Tartara and Gian Renzo Bazzu, hold the remaining 30 percent and the right of veto.

Meanwhile, the team and the season's organization remain on hold, so much so that the rooms in the Berchidda hotel , booked at an unexpected time to accommodate the Whites during pre-season training, have reportedly been cancelled, and the signing with the Municipality of Monti for the sports facility that should host training has been postponed to a date yet to be determined.
