For the new Serie D season, Monastir has confirmed Simone Pinna. Having joined the club in the 2022-23 season, the 1997-born defender has contributed to the club's and the team's rise, winning Group A of the Promozione league with record scores and the Coppa Italia di Promozione in his first year.

This year, they'll advance to Serie D via the playoffs, opening the scoring against Vianese with a perfect free kick midway through the first half. Pinna, who has played in Serie D since the beginning of his career with Olbia (before making his Serie A debut with Cagliari and also appearing in Serie B and Serie C), will be one of the leaders of the new Monastir team, bringing his professionalism and his great human qualities, even more than his footballing prowess.

"This is my third year at Monastir," says Pinna. "It means that, along with my other confirmed teammates, we embody the project's values."

There's great anticipation and a desire to get back on track. Now we're approaching Serie D with humility and a desire to demonstrate, in the club's debut in this category, that we can still be a key player. I'm bringing with me all the guys who have been with us over the past two years and who have brought us to this point. For me, it's a starting point; I'm returning to a category I spent six months in at the beginning of my career and during a brief stint at COS. This time, I'm doing so with greater experience, greater awareness of my abilities, and a desire to always be professional, all values we want to extend to the rest of the squad.
