"We'll get there," coach Alfonso Greco sarcastically commented, asking his players to show yet another display of extraordinary heart and concentration, because the bench, excluding Liviero and the returning Scotto, will be made up of the Primavera youth team. Missing out are strikers Di Stefano and Sorrentino, attacking midfielder Lunghi, playmaker Mastinu, midfielder Pennington, and defenders Nunziatini and Kebbeh.

The Sassari coach described his opponents as follows: "They're coming off six consecutive wins. We're facing a very tough match against a team that's fast and aggressive. We'll have to be clear-headed in difficult situations."
