Torres drew with some regret, taking the lead in Carpi with a Luciani penalty, but less than a quarter of an hour later they were equalized by Zagnoni's goal. A win would have seen them move clear of the play-off zone, but the point instead leaves their closest rivals with a glimmer of hope.

Greco's Rossoblù put in an inconsistent performance, dominating the game in the first 40 minutes and creating at least three chances: two from Liviero (a superb save from the goalkeeper after a header that went over the crossbar) and one from Di Stefano who shot too wide. Toward the end of the half, Sassari's team sluggishly conceded, and the home team created a couple of opportunities: in the 44th minute, Pietra's shot hit the crossbar.

In the second half, Torres regained their momentum: Sorrentino won the ball and found Di Stefano. The goalkeeper barely managed to touch the ball, but Zagnoni cleared it off the line. Di Stefano again in the 56th minute, receiving the ball in the box and being blocked by Rosetti. A penalty was awarded: substitute Luciani converted, wrong-footing the goalkeeper. The lead didn't last even a quarter of an hour, as Zagnoni stopped a right-sided corner and turned it into the net to equalize.
