Still bottom, Torres recovered a point from both Perugia and Pontedera, now just three points behind, a clear victory. That victory hasn't been regained yet, but it was sought after on Sunday against Pineto and would have been deserved, given their excellent performance for much of the match.

"In the long run, the results will come, even if I'm pissed off for not having won a match we dominated," said coach Alfonso Greco. There are complaints: six shots on target and two that grazed the woodwork, but only one goal.

It should be noted that on Sunday at the "Vanni Sanna" stadium, an inadequate referee allowed Pineto to engage in obstructionist tactics (dramatic falls, constant protests), which disrupted Torres' rhythm and created considerable tension. The club and fans have been hoping for normal refereeing for months, because objectively in this championship, the lack of penalties and the two favorable VAR decisions compared to about twenty against are unfair.

The need to get going remains. The rossoblù coach is confident: "When the spark goes off, I'm sure we'll get a string of important results."
