The Integrity Tour stopped in Sassari, where Torres hosted the event which involved the first team, technical staff, management and Primavera 3 training. The project was signed by Lega Pro and Sportradar AG, in collaboration with the Italian Association Footballers, aims to combat match fixing practices (betting on fixed matches) and every type of sports fraud through a full program of training meetings dedicated entirely to Serie C NOW footballers and to raising their awareness on the topic.
The meeting was held in the new press and hospitality room of the "Vanni Sanna" stadium in Sassari, in the presence of the top leaders of the Lega Pro : the president Matteo Marani, the deputy vice-president Gianfranco Zola and the general secretary Emanuele Paolucci. Also speaking as speakers were: Giovanni Marchi from the Lega Pro marketing office, Andrea Fiumana and Matteo Brighi as AIC representatives.
The president of the Lega Pro Marani explained: «This awareness project is of great importance. Match fixing practices, in addition to compromising the essence and values of football, irreparably damage careers and, even more importantly, put lives and health at risk. We, as Lega Pro, will always be alongside the players and the sixty clubs of Serie C NOW. Only with training and culture can such harmful phenomena be eliminated and limited."
Gianfranco Zola, who began his career at Torres, added: «Keeping a certain behavior, both on and off the pitch, has always been a source of pride for me. All the great victories of the past, remembered today, are such because of the great moral values that underpinned them."
