Paolo Bedin is the new president of Lega Serie B. After several months of waiting and stalemate, the elective assembly took place today: the manager, former general director of Lega Pro, was elected at the third vote after the outgoing president, Sardinian Mauro Balata, withdrew his candidacy at the end of the first two votes held in Milan .
In the first, Bedin obtained 8 votes against the 5 of Balata and the other candidate Vittorio Veltroni. In the second, Bedin rose to 11 preferences, with 4 votes each for Balata and Veltroni. In the last, Bedin obtained 15 votes in favor compared to the 5 of Veltroni .
Balata, originally from Calangianus, had been president of Lega B since November 23, 2017 , after seven years of leadership by Andrea Abodi (current Minister of Sport) and two months in which the Sardinian lawyer himself had served as commissioner. On January 7, 2021, he was elected for a second term.
