The intense tug-of-war between Serie A and users of so-called "pirate sites" continues. To discourage audiovisual piracy, compensation actions have been initiated against users of illegal platforms.

This was confirmed by Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Servio , who, in an interview with Il Sole 24 Ore, stated: "We are sending two thousand letters demanding a thousand euros from anyone identified by the Guardia di Finanza as using illegal platforms."

"Online piracy is a multibillion-dollar industry," he continues. "Blocking illegal flows quickly and effectively is possible, but collaboration is needed."
