Memory is not only a duty, but a weapon against indifference. Sunday, January 26, at 11:30, at the Orto Giardino Mariposa de Cardu in Quartucciu, Senza Memoria will be performed, an intense and profound recital conceived and performed by Gisella Vacca, accompanied on the piano by Andrea Mameli.

The show, included in the “Peace on Earth” review by Il Crogiuolo, is a theatrical and musical journey that recalls the Shoah and the many genocides that have marked, and continue to mark, the history of humanity.

Senza Memoria is not only a tribute to the victims of the Holocaust, but a cry of alarm against the oblivion that often follows commemorations. "Remembering," explains Vacca, "does not mean limiting oneself to a symbolic gesture: it is a constant exercise to keep one's guard up against hatred, blind power and the manipulation of consciences."

The recital intertwines music and poetry to evoke the pain of millions of Jews, Roma, Sinti, disabled people, homosexuals and dissidents exterminated by the totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century, but it does not forget the most recent horrors: from the Kurds to the Palestinians, victims of new massacres before the eyes of the world. The combination of touching verses and evocative music makes the message of Senza Memoria even more powerful: memory is not just a memory, but an active commitment to building a more humane future. To participate in the event, entry is scheduled in via Goffredo Mameli, località Su Idanu. For information: review “Pace in Terra” by Il Crogiuolo.
