A little over a month before Easter Sunday, when parish priest Don Maurizio Demartis will officially announce the names of the flags during Holy Mass, the village has begun its pooling of flags for the 2026 Ardia. No one is willing to speculate on the identity of the chosen knights, but some are more likely than others.
For the July 6th and 7th horse race, the most widely-acclaimed rumor is that the new race director will be breeder Danilo Pes , accompanied by runner-up Matteo Falchi and runner-up Andrea Mureddu. Pes and Falchi are no strangers to the leading trio. Both were runner-up and runner-up, respectively, in 2013, when the role of race director was entrusted to Giuseppe Carboni .
In short, these are riders who are well versed in the mechanics of what for the people of Sedile is the great religious festival in honor of Emperor Constantine. Even with regards to the Ardia on foot, which is run on the octave, there is little doubt that the first flag bearer will be Davide Muscau , who should be flanked by Graziano Salaris (second flag) and Marco Sotgiu (third).
Meanwhile, the event's organizational machinery is already in motion, involving all those called upon to play an important role, first and foremost the Santu Antinu association, led by Angelo Porcu . The association's assembly unanimously approved the new bylaws , the result of nearly a year of work by the board of directors, with the goal of aligning the organization with regulations and strengthening its structure, protections, and transparency.
"With this change," President Porcus emphasizes, "you become a Third Sector Organization, obtaining significant benefits. The first is legal personality , which guarantees limited liability. Any liabilities are covered by the association's assets, not the personal assets of members or volunteers—a crucial aspect considering the organizational commitment of the Feast of San Costantino. The second concerns the preferential tax regime , more favorable treatment for institutional activities, simplified fundraising, and advantages for sponsorships and contributions.
The bylaws, the president emphasizes, also introduce clearer and more transparent rules, strengthening internal democracy and member participation. This is a fundamental step for the future and for the Feast of San Costantino, made possible thanks to the work of the board and the support of the members.
