The opening of the 2025 World Music Festival, the concert series dedicated to world music and organized by the Cooperativa Teatro e/o Musica, is dedicated to Argentina. This Friday, in Piazza Moretti in Sassari, starting at 9:30 pm, a concert will feature Silvina Orozco (vocals), Luz Pierotto (flute), and Monica Papalìa (piano).
The trio performs traditional Argentine music, refined melodies for a repertoire that blends folklore, archaic music, tango, and jazz in a new and contemporary language. Silvina Orozco and Monica Papalìa have performed and recorded numerous times, both as soloists and in groups. They have participated in prestigious festivals, collaborating with major artists. Their work, recognized as being of cultural interest, is supported by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has received widespread acclaim. Luz Pierotto moved to Europe in 1999, where she participated in numerous musical projects. She has performed with the Maram Oriental Ensemble, with which she recorded the album IBHAR , and with the all-female group Le vedove allegre. She is dedicated to teaching and research in music education.
The World Music Festival will then return to Piazza Moretti on August 1st with the concert Myricae Mediterraneo , with Luca Falomi (classical and baritone guitar), Eugenia Canale (piano and rhodes), Stefano Della Casa (cello and effects) and Max Trabucco (drums and percussion) and on August 9th with Mille culure - tribute to Pino Daniele , with the voice of Anna Maria Castelli accompanied by Adriàn Fioramonti on guitar, Amedeo Ronga on double bass and Stefano Rapicavoli on drums.
