Three screenings to get into the mood of the documentary film and photography festival organized by 4Caniperstrada. The Spazio Bunker in Sassari hosts on Thursday and Friday (8:30 pm, free admission) films and directors from the Asincronie OFF Under 35 section, which previews the 6th edition of Asincronie.
The first film on view is “ Una vita per l'arte” by Fabiana Miccio : the story of the symbiotic bond with the earth, plants and animals of the artist Bruno Petretto , creator of the Parco delle Arti “Molineddu”, on the outskirts of Ossi. Also set in Sardinia is “ Fuochi”, a collective film directed by Ruben Gagliardini , winner of the 10th edition of the Visioni dal Mondo festival in Milan in the “Opera Prima New Talent” category:
On Friday, the director and archivist Alessandra Lancellotti will be a guest with “ Il re fanciullo” , with a film about the life of the gallery owner Franz Paludetto, an original and generous figure of a dreamer patron, creator of a Contemporary Art Center in the Castello di Rivara, near Turin. The work is a magical tale made of old 16mm films, archives and works of art, an intense visual and sound work that intertwines the compositions of Héctor Cavallaro and the voice of Daniela Pes.
Also a preview of the festival is the inauguration (Friday at 7pm, Spazio Bunker) of the photographic exhibition “Five From One” , curated by Claudio Domini and Paolo Pisanelli, which brings together a selection of colour photographs divided into five continents by the Italian-American photographer Lou Dematteis , one of the most important photojournalists of the Reuters Agency, for which, since the Seventies, he has documented the main events around the world, in particular the conflicts in Central America, and the changes in American society.
Lou Dematteis will be a guest at the festival on June 6 and 7 for the inauguration of another important exhibition that the festival is dedicating to him at Palazzo Ducale, “A Journey Back/Un viaggio di ritorno”, the visual story of 4 trips made by the photographer to Italy in search of his roots.
