Almost everyone knows Pasquale Tola , magistrate, historian and politician. Very few know that he had a brother, Efisio (co-owner of Piazza Tola in Sassari) who was shot in the back in 1833 , in Chambéry, in the Savoy of the Kingdom of Sardinia led by Carlo Alberto.

Efisio Tola was considered a traitor because of Mazzini sympathies , even if the accusation for some historians was based only on the fact that he had read "La Giovine Italia" by Mazzini. Instead, his older brother was a staunch royalist and helped the Savoyard ministry extend the Albertine codes to Sardinia.

Hence the title of the piece written by Cosimo Filigheddu “Perdona, Efisio. Your brother Pasquale”, scheduled for Thursday 19 January at the Teatro Astra.

Two performances: at 11 matinee for schools and at 8 pm the evening show which concludes the review dedicated to the great characters of Sassari .

After the shows dedicated to Berlinguer, the Count of Morania and the architect Misuraca, the Compagnia Teatro Sassari brings the theatrical performance to the stage. In the dramatic work Pasquale Tola, in 1874, a few months before his death, is imagined to come to terms with his tormented existence and face the ghosts of this unresolved relationship with his murdered brother . The interpreters are Mario Lubino (also director), Teresa Soro, Alberto Lubino and Claudio Dionisi.

The show will be preceded by a presentation of historical-political background and biographical hints by the historian Antonello Mattone.
