The flamenco dancer famous in tablaos around the world, the stages where they play, sing, and dance to the rhythm of clapping. The Jesús Cortés Flamenco Company returns to the Teatro Verdi in Sassari . On Friday, May 22nd, at 9:00 PM, the Sevillian choreographer and dancer will be in town for the event organized by the Cooperativa Teatro e/o Musica.

Originally from Seville, Jesús Cortés has won the National Flamenco Dance Award in Spain three times. Considered one of the most important figures in the new flamenco movement, he began dancing at the age of six and has performed worldwide throughout his career. After joining Teresa Guerra's renowned company, he founded his own school, establishing himself as a principal dancer.

Cortés is also recognized for his choreographic work, which combines the most authentic flamenco tradition with sounds and languages close to jazz and soul. This research gives rise to original and contemporary shows, regularly performed at Patio Andaluz, the tablao he directs in Barcelona.

On the stage of the Teatro Verdi in Sassari, Jesús Cortés will be joined by ten male and female dancers, guitars, and percussion, creating an intense and engaging performance that will captivate the audience from the very first steps. Flamenco is an art in which the body becomes the voice: through movement, the dancer expresses an inner tension, an emotional release, a personal story. As Cortés himself states, it means "speaking about feelings through dance."
