The closing show of the 4th "Plays!" festival, organized by the La botte e il cilindri company, is dedicated to the 19th-century poet Jules Laforgue. On Sunday at 7 p.m., the Teatro Astra in Sassari hosts " Gran Cabaret Au Clair De Lune omelette a Jules Laforgue."
The work produced by Tide and its Sassari-based company is suitable for audiences aged 14 and up. Written and starring Simona Pintus, and directed by Pier Paolo Conconi, the show is born from an exploration of the work of one of the world's most powerful and visionary poets. His poetics unfolds through moons, dreams, women, and mothers, creating not a juxtaposition but rather a perfect fit—constructed with a subtle yet cutting irony—with the themes of the gloomy, of death, and of strange visions of dancing skeletons wearing cassocks and tailcoats.
The show is an avant-garde welcome of Laforgue's poetics translated into the theatrical space through a path that accompanies the spectator in a dandyistic and humorous transformation. which takes place under the moonlight, under the watchful eye of the moon itself, which is both lighthouse and landing place. Human nature is explored in its mutability and rigidity, through the contradictions that persist despite the passage of time.
