After ten years, flutist Silvia Careddu, born in Cagliari where she also studied, but of Gallura origins, returns to Sassari. She will perform on Friday at the Teatro Verdi (8:30 p.m.) as part of the concert season “Grandi Interpreti della Musica” organized by the Cooperativa Teatro e/o Musica.
Careddu already has an extraordinary international career behind her, which started in Cagliari (she graduated from the "GP da Palestrina" Conservatory) to arrive on the most important stages in the world. A few months ago she received the Premio Navicella 2024, the latest in chronological order among those received to date. One for all, the prestigious international competition in Geneva, won in 2001. From that award onwards it has been a succession of goals. She was the first Italian in 2015 to enter the legendary Wiener Philharmoniker.
"I can only be proud of these important achievements that have given me the opportunity to play in the most important theaters, directed by the great names of concert music - says Careddu - but I want to say that I am also particularly excited and happy to perform again here in Sardinia after about 10 years from the last concert and for the first time at the Teatro Verdi in Sassari. I really appreciated this invitation from the Cooperativa Teatro e/o Musica because it will allow me to finally play in front of my family, in the hall there will be my father, my mother and my lifelong friends. A beautiful opportunity".
In addition to pursuing her international career, she teaches at the prestigious Zurich University of the Arts. Silvia Careddu won the first flute competition at the Orchestre National de France in 2022, yet another important professional achievement.
Silvia Careddu will be accompanied at the Verdi by the Chamber Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi - Konzertmeister Guglielmo De Stasio. The evening's program features music by Telemann, Vivaldi, Mozart.
