Sassari, Tazenda and Francesco Demuro in concert for the University
The event will be behind closed doors but live streaming on the University channels
Appointment tomorrow evening, from 20, with the "Concert for the new year", organized by the University of Sassari.
The event, behind closed doors in the main hall in Piazza Università and live streaming on the university's official YouTube and Facebook channels, will open with the greetings of the Rector Gavino Mariotti and the Vice Rector for relations with the territory, Antonietta Mazzette. In this way the University of Sassari wants to give, once again this year, a sign of solidarity in support of music and the arts particularly penalized in these months of pandemic, even if they are indispensable components of the social and cultural life of the country.
It will be a show with two distinct musical souls which, for the occasion, will merge into a single artistic manifestation. The “New Year's Concert” will open with the face and voice of the acclaimed singer Francesco Demuro, accompanied by the pianist Andrea Certa. The evening will continue with Tazenda, who will bring their great classics and songs from the latest album “Antìstasis” to the stage. The tenor will close the concert with “No sleep”.
“Antìstasis” (from the classic Greek “resistance”) is a record that meets tradition and innovation, in which stories of common life are told between weaknesses, fears and hopes placed in the future. Eleven unpublished songs (plus 1 remix), in Sardinian-Logudorese and Italian, which combine the desire for exploration, the attention of modern productions and the search for stylistic and vocal simplicity.
