Young musicians from Sardinian conservatories are in the spotlight in three weekly events. On Tuesday, July 21st, at 7:00 PM, in the Sassu Hall of the Conservatory in Sassari, percussionist Silvia Cossu will present her degree in Percussion Instruments in a concert as part of the 10th MusicaNOVA Contemporary Music Festival. The recital, "Man Against the Machine," intertwines percussion, electronics, and highly topical themes, transforming the stage into a forum for a confrontation between human talent and the power of technological innovation. The program includes music by Francisco Pérez, Andrea Mazzariello, John Psathas, Cort Lippe, and Vinko Globokar.
Also on Tuesday, but at 9 pm, in the cloister of the Church of San Francesco in Alghero, there will be another concert in the Notturni Contemporanei series, a collaboration between the Conservatories of Sassari and Cagliari. The first part of the evening will be performed by the Ensemble Scisma of Cagliari , composed of Armida Bozzano on flute, Caterina Manconi on clarinet, Maria Giulia Pittau on violin, Pietro Bozzano on cello, and Raffaele Crobu on piano, with Marco Caredda conducting.
The second part will feature the Ausspielen Trio , a group composed of Canepa's three double basses: Mauro Tore, Matteo Virdis, and Ari Vodret. The evening is in collaboration with the Arte in Musica Association.
On Wednesday, July 22nd, at 8:00 PM, in the courtyard of the Palazzo Ducale in Sassari, the Conservatory's Wednesdays series will feature OrchestrArchi, the large ensemble born from a collaboration between the Conservatory and the Azuni Music High School. The ensemble is being trained by teachers Tiziano Baviera, Gioele Lumbau, and Alessio Manca. The concert will open with Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto No. 4, RV 151. This will be followed by Präludium from Carl Nielsen's Little Suite , Op. 1, Jean Sibelius's Impromptu, Op. 5, and Sentimental Sarabande from Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony . Admission to all concerts is free.
