An event attracting 1,200 people in Sassari . It's scheduled for May 1st at the Ex Mater, and was presented yesterday at Palazzo Lombardo.

The day's organizers will be presenting, starting with Mauro Pisano, 21-year-old president of Beyond By Now, an association founded just a year ago and already behind several collaborations with the Academy of Fine Arts, the Municipality of Sassari, and other local cultural institutions.

"May 1st," Pisano says, "is the first large-scale public expression of what the former slaughterhouse space can offer." And following the recent example of a techno concert in Genoa before 8,000 spectators, including Mayor Silvia Salis, Friday will feature a DJ set expected to draw around 1,200. "Tickets are almost sold out," says Gabriele Addis, a spokesperson for Jet Lag, which is organizing the concert. Jet Lag has long been dedicated to providing venues of historical and scenic value in Sardinia, such as tuff quarries, natural amphitheatres, and medieval castles, as backdrops for musical events. May 1st will also feature other offerings, focusing on technology and craftsmanship. From 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, there will be Open Studios and the Tiny Amazing Market, featuring crafts, workshops, and select vintage items. Following this will be a performance by the Sassari literary collective Clip Informale, followed by a DJ set.
