Music by Schumann and Brahms for the concert within the “I mercoledì del Conservatorio” series. On October 16th at 7 pm in the Sassu del Canepa room, two students of the institute will be the protagonists:

The program includes the performance of the Märchenbilder op. 113 by Robert Schumann and the Sonata in F minor no. 1 op. 120 by Johannes Brahms. The Märchenbilder were composed by Schumann in 1851 and imagined as four “fairy-tale paintings” by the author himself, in which one finds the spirit of the “fantastic stories” of German taste, rich in symbols and allegories linked to popular legends. The Sonata in F minor no. 1 op. 120, of a particularly intimate and melancholic nature, was composed together with no. 2 by Brahms in his old age, in 1894, and written for piano and clarinet or viola, given the affinities of the two instruments .

Davide Casu began studying violin in Sassari, continuing in Genoa, Ghent (Belgium) for two years, and concluding his studies at the Conservatory of Sassari with the teacher Michelangelo Lentini. Since 2023 he has been studying viola at the Sassari Conservatory under the guidance of the teacher Stefania Pisanu .

Fabio Arru approaches the study of piano in Olbia, participating in the International Course of Musical Interpretation “Umbria classica” from 2015 to 2021 and then attending masterclasses with Rodolfo Ponce Montero and Norma Fisher. In 2023 he performs during the concert season “I mercoledì del Conservatorio” in Sassari as a soloist and at the “Notturni Contemporanei” in a duo with cello. He attends the third year of the three-year piano course at the Conservatory of Sassari under the guidance of teacher Mariano Meloni .
