In memory of Giovanni Maria Angioy's arrival in Sassari. To celebrate the event, dated February 28, 1796, which led to the birth of a revolutionary project often erased from collective memory, a network of schools and associations have promoted a full calendar of events. The project "1796–2026. Revolutionary Tàtari Tzitade," sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Sassari, is organized by the Filippo Figari Art School, the Teatro S'Arza, and the Sa Domo de Totus. Also contributing are the Sardinian National Assembly, the Camillo Bellieni Institute for Linguistic and Scientific Aspects, and the Sassari Delegation of the FAI (Italian Environment Fund), which will accompany students on a guided tour of the Sala Sciuti in the Provincial Palace.

The Sassari Environment Committee will also be responsible for creating the Garden of Remembrance in the green space of the former Botanical Garden. One component of the project will be a mural celebrating Angioy's arrival in Sassari, currently underway on the exterior wall of the Filippo Figari Art School on Via Pompeo Calvia, right next to the school entrance and just a few meters from the monument dedicated to the eight Sardinian revolutionaries hanged on the Forche del Carmine Vecchio between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Professors Claudio Cupiraggi and Cristiano Sabino will supervise the historical and artistic aspects of the project, while the work itself bears the signature of final-year students in the Figari Painting program, part of a curriculum that also includes the Graphic Design and Audiovisual Arts courses. The first appointment will be on January 23rd when the classes involved from Figari, and a representation of all nine classes from the lower secondary school of the Convitto Nazionale Canopoleno, will visit the Sala Sciuti of the Palazzo della Provincia, where the fresco “Triumphal entry of Giommaria Angioy in Sassari” (1878) by the famous Sicilian painter Giuseppe Sciuti is located.

The conference "1796–2026. Revolutionary Tàtari Tzitade" will be held on February 27th in the Aula Magna of the Figari Art School. The conference will be open to students in the morning and to the public in the afternoon, featuring historians and scholars such as Federico Francioni, Piero Atzori, Antonello Nasone, and Adriana Valenti Sabouret. Finally, on February 28th, at 10 a.m. on Via Pompeo Calvia, in the presence of the highest authorities of the Metropolitan City of Sassari, the mural created by the high school students will be unveiled. The event will include theatrical readings, choral music, and presentations by the institutions and associations involved.
