A "small" initiative of great significance as a means of solidarity and support for organizations operating in the area. Felice Tagliaferri , a world-renowned blind sculptor (the author of "Christ Revealed"), returns to Sassari. He founded the first school of visual arts directed by a blind artist.
The workshop, titled " Clay in the Dark ," will teach how to manipulate clay without the use of sight and will be held in the parish hall of San Paolo on February 21st and 22nd. Participants will receive a certificate recognized by the Ministry of Education.
The " GRAF " project is implemented in collaboration with the Emporio della Solidarietà - Braccia Tese APS. All proceeds from the initiative will go to support the Emporio della Solidarietà Braccia Tese in Sassari, a particularly active and productive organization in the city that works daily to help families and individuals experiencing economic and social hardship.
Felice Tagliaferri's story is incredible. Having gone blind at the age of 14 due to a degenerative optic nerve disease, at 25, thanks to his formative experience with the sculptor Nicola Zamboni , he concretely experienced the possibility that visual impairment does not limit one's potential.
From here, his intense career as an artist and educator began. Tagliaferri now travels the world teaching educators, teachers, artists, and craftspeople that "there are no such thing as disabled or abled: everyone has their own disabilities, everyone can find their own abilities."
