Sassari as City of Women. This is the philosophy that inspires the March 8 event promoted by the Municipality and that brings together the Educational Policies sector, the Social Policies sector and the permanent council commission for social problems, public education, cultural activities, sports, tourism and entertainment. With the guidance of Memoria Storica Torresina and Clip, together with the contribution of the Fondazione di Sardegna, women will be in the foreground in two moments that will animate the center.

The incipit is scheduled for 11.30 in Largo Pescheria, at the headquarters of Collettivo Letterario Informale Performativo (Clip) where a meeting will be held, entitled “A voce alta”, with readings and poems interspersed with music by Rita Casiddu . At 19 instead at Palazzo di Città, in the civic theater, Amst, or the association for social promotion Memoria storica torresina, will talk about “A century of women's sport in Sassari”. Events that aim to make March 8 a day in which we can imagine building a community that looks to the future from a female point of view.

"We believe in a city," says Mayor Giuseppe Mascia, "that entrusts women with decision-making and top positions, that builds a caring and supportive community, that guarantees conditions of equality and opportunities for accessibility, inclusion and participation." Councilor for Culture Nicoletta Puggioni adds: " Culture, art, meeting and conviviality can be precious tools for conveying messages of universal value , for educating in a world capable of speaking daily and through multiple languages of rights, equal opportunities and rights."

The Councilor for Social Policies, Lalla Careddu, maintains that " it is essential that March 8 ceases to be an isolated event , a celebration, but that it also becomes an opportunity in our community to take stock, to update ourselves, to verify the steps forward made in the direction of a more inclusive and fairer city".
