Sassari, Animated Cinema protagonist at the XIX Sardinia Film Festival

Five European masterpieces, expert meetings with schools and much more in the event organized by the Cineclub Sassari (celebrating its 70th year, the longest in Sardinia) that will be hosted from November 6 to 9 at the Cityplex Moderno in Sassari. The XIX Sardinia Film Festival will be entirely dedicated to animated cinema, as has been the case since 2021.
The novelty in the collaboration with the schools is the availability of the Convitto Nazionale of Sassari, where a stop motion laboratory was created with the 3^A and 3^B classes.
The opening on November 6th at 9.30, with the artist, writer and illustrator Monica Tronci who will present “My story with plasticine”, in which she will illustrate how she creates her animation works, while on Friday, Carolina Melis and Daniele Mulas of New Animation in Sardinia propose “The new animation in Sardinia, a meeting with the NAS project”, to tell the state of the art in the promotion and training of professionals in this important cinematographic sector.
Worth noting on Thursday is the screening of “Blu – stop motion for the first time in Sardinia” in the company of director Michela Anedda.
Among the films in competition are also two Oscar nominees “Flow” (Belgium-Latvia-France), directed by Gints Zilbalodis, and “My Robot Friend”, a Franco-Spanish work directed by Pablo Berger,
The festival was presented this morning in the Aula Magna of the Convitto Nazionale of Sassari by the rector Stefano Manca, the mayor Giuseppe Mascia and Carlo Dessì, president of the Cineclub Sassari.
