Tomorrow and Sunday, the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro will participate in the European Heritage Days with several initiatives.
After today's focus on the Domus de Janas of Cheremule, tomorrow it's the turn of the Li Punti Restoration and Conservation Center in Sassari. From 4:20 PM to 8:30 PM, a large headless sculpture with armor likely representing Emperor Hadrian, a statue from the cult of Hercules, and part of the bust of another armored statue, along with two capitals, will be on display. All were discovered during excavations at the Colonia Iulia Turris Libissonis in Porto Torres.
The Anghelu Ruju necropolis in Alghero, where excavation and restoration work are underway, will be open to visitors on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Two months ago, the Alghero necropolis was recognized as a World Heritage Site.
Also on Sunday, but in Palau, from 11 am to 5 pm, an exhibition will be inaugurated in the studio house of architect Alberto Ponis, who was born on September 28th.
The architect's home and studio will host an exhibition of drawings, photographs, paintings, and projects, presented in the space where they were conceived. The preservation of his professional archive, declared of cultural interest in 2023, will also be illustrated.
