From clay to ceramics to create Carnival masks. New appointment on Friday 9 February at 5pm with the workshops organized by Confartigianato Sassari in the “ Salone delle Botteghe ” in Sassari , the exhibition area of the Tavolara Pavilion.

Open to all enthusiasts, the workshop is run by the Gallura artisan Mercedes Enne .

The master ceramist from Olbia studies architecture and attends a goldsmith school after university. During her years of working as an architect in Costa Smeralda she continued to experiment with new artistic techniques and found her favorite form of expression in artisanal ceramics. He attended various courses to perfect the modeling and enamelling technique.

Today, as a professional ceramist, he creates objects for the table and for the home entirely by hand: all unique pieces with simple and clean lines, light and linear shapes, decorated mainly with the sgraffito technique, which creates splendid material and chiaroscuro effects .

Marco Rau, president of Confartigianato Sassari, comments: «The ceramic mask making workshop is an extraordinary place where creativity takes shape through the delicate touch of the artisans. We wanted this workshop with the teacher Enne because she represents an excellence in the world of ceramics in Sardinia, capable of interpreting the profession of ceramist in a modern key, fusing together art, design and craftsmanship. The attention to detail and the particular workmanship make them unique pieces even if they are similar in their kind."
