Support women affected by breast cancer with concrete aid. This is the spirit that guides the Santa Maria La Palma winery in the second edition of the Akènta Rosé Special Edition project , created in collaboration with the coordinated multidisciplinary corporate Senology (Smac) of the Aou of Sassari .

The first edition of the initiative made it possible to purchase a dermopigmentation system, currently supplied to the Aou Sassari. Given the importance of the initiative and its positive response, it was decided to repeat it: the Santa Maria La Palma winery has produced a new limited edition of Akènta Rosé wine, the sale of which will help raise funds that will be used for actions related to care , research and support for Smac patients .

«We want to repeat an action that we consider very important», underlines Mario Peretto , president of the Cantina. «We are convinced that private companies must engage in actions dedicated to supporting the territory and those who live there, and we are happy to repeat the Akènta Rosé Special Edition initiative».

"A project with a great human and social sense, which will contribute to helping women who are experiencing such a delicate moment", underlines the vice president Gianfranca Pirisi . «We have made ourselves available to the Aou and the Smac center to help carry out such an important project: every year more than 350 women are affected by this health problem, in the Sassari area alone. We too, like Cantina Santa Maria La Palma, wanted to do something to stay close to them».

An initiative that has found prompt acceptance by the Aou of Sassari. «Projects like this - says the general manager Antonio Lorenzo Spano -, which unite private and public, show how important the hospital is for the territory. This makes us understand even more that the choice we made with the new corporate deed, to transform Smac into a complex structure like the Breast unit, is the right one. Because it is the best answer to women's needs».

The director of Plastic Surgery at the Aou of Sassari, Professor Corrado Rubino , also underlined the importance of the new project. "We are pleased that this new initiative is proposed in favor of Smac and women - he says -. And this is because we are convinced that, on the basis of what was already achieved last September, this time too it will be possible to contribute to the improvement of the services provided to patients affected by this pathology".

«These are important initiatives - adds Rita Nonnis , breast surgeon at Smac - which allow us to carry out projects with a scientific, social and cultural value in favor of women with breast cancer and give us the possibility of always being at their side in and out of the hospital.

The bottles of Akènta Rosé Special Edition will be available in the outlets of the Santa Maria La Palma winery in Santa Maria La Palma, in Alghero (via Don Minzoni 41) and at the La Cantina wine shop and winery (via XXIV Maggio n. 6, Alghero), as well as on the company's online shop.

They will also be available in special stands set up in Sassari in Piazza Italia over the weekend from 21 to 23 April, on the occasion of the Corsa in Rosa.
