18 professionals from the livestock sector have completed the second-level Master's course in Management, Sustainability of Livestock and Animal Welfare – Gesaben , promoted by the University of Sassari.
The award ceremony was held in the Department of Agriculture's Palazzo Segni. The Gesaben Master's program explored the most current issues in livestock production: advanced technologies, environmental sustainability, animal welfare, food safety, ethics, and the management of antimicrobial resistance.
Particular attention was paid to the use of Classyfarm , a system of the Ministry of Health for monitoring livestock farms, from a One Health perspective that integrates animal, human and environmental health.
"Today, sustainable livestock farming cannot exist without professionals capable of understanding and addressing problems with an integrated vision," emphasized the Master's director, Maria Grazia Cappai. "The success of this first edition encourages us to look ahead to the next one, with a training program even more focused on innovation and sustainability."
The event was attended by Gavino Mariotti, Rector of the University of Sassari; Ignazio Floris, Director of the Department of Agriculture; Pietro Pulina, Vice Rector for Education; and Giuseppe Pulina, Vice Rector for Research. Two leading national figures were also present: Vincenzo Ugo Santucci, Director of Office 6 of the Ministry of Health, and Gianfranco Brambilla, Research Director of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità.
