The Sartiglia turns on Oristano again, but in a reduced version due to the Covid emergency. In fact, the idea has been confirmed, unanimously agreed in recent days and subsequently presented to the Prefect and the Quaestor, for a limited two-day program, Sunday 27 February and Tuesday 1 March.

The appointment will not see the race for the star or the pairs but only the dressing of the componidoris in the two Gremi headquarters, in via Aristana and via Solferino, the parade of the knights up to via Duomo, the blessing of the city and the crossing of swords . The project for the 2022 event, conditioned once again by the Covid emergency, was defined by the representatives of the Municipality of Oristano, the Oristano Foundation, the Sa Sartiglia Institution, the Gremi di San Giovanni and San Giuseppe who met in the Municipality .

The technical project on which the Oristano Foundation will work in the coming days, which must be inspired by full compliance with safety regulations, does not foresee the closure of areas while the arrangement of barriers will only concern the points that could possibly present major criticalities, but aiming for a procession in motion there should be no risk of possible gatherings.

The project proposal, once defined in detail (times, number of participants, routes), will be presented to the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters for a unitary evaluation.

"From the meeting with the Prefect and the Chief of Police, the willingness to seek shared solutions in compliance with the rules and the health situation emerged and we are moving along this line with the utmost speed" observes the mayor and president of the Oristano Foundation Andrea Lutzu.
