For Fabio Tuveri and his restaurant Su Talleri – an authentic corner of Sardinia in the heart of Barcelona – comes an important recognition for the quality and commitment of the work carried out: the Fregula d'Oro Award, awarded for excellence in the promotion of Sardinian cuisine.
A concrete commitment, that of Tuveri, in keeping alive the culinary traditions of the island, offering authentic and high-quality dishes with ingredients that come directly from Sardinia: «So many efforts that are also repaid with these initiatives, which recognize the hard work» , says the 42-year-old from Pabilloni.
After working in the restaurant business in Italy, Tuveri – once in Barcelona – initially lived in a hostel to save money, managing, with much sacrifice, to open his own restaurant: this recognition highlights not only the quality of his work, but also the importance of preserving and spreading Sardinian traditions beyond regional borders.
The award was presented by journalist Giorgio Ariu of "Sardegnatavola": «An award, an exclusive format of the magazine, for industriousness, for a story that began a long time ago, made of sacrifices, ambitions and tenacity, dedicated to those who managed to establish themselves in Barcelona, as many Sardinians have done». The fregula, in fact, symbol of the Sardinian gastronomic tradition, best represents the industrious spirit of the island people: from work in the fields, to the ears of corn, to the harvest: «With these grains of pasta, which require patience to be formed, a story is told that is also the story of "Su Talleri". This award is for merit» , concludes Ariu.
