Tomorrow, Sunday, February 23, at the Fort Maon Center in San Francisco, “A Glimpse of Sardinia” will be presented, in which Kelly Manjula Koza, founder of Sardinian Arts, will illustrate «the majesty of Sardinia and the indescribable beauty of the ancient Sardinian tradition of hand weaving».
During the presentation, Kelly will share photos, videos and stories from the island, with a special focus on the artisan weavers who keep the ancient tradition alive, artfully expressing the Sardinian spirit through their work and their fabrics. Woven one at a time on entirely hand-operated looms, Sardinian textiles are technically precise, strikingly beautiful and have an evocative essence that is difficult to express in words, which the audience will be able to capture in the fabrics of Samugheo, Nule and Aggius, on display during the event.
The event is presented by the Museo Italo Americano in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco.
