16% of the loans disbursed in Sardinia concern the purchase of a property with a high energy class, A or B. And the island is the second region in Italy, behind Trentino Alto Adige, for green mortgages.

This was reported by a study by the Qualis Credit Risk Observatory. According to the data in the report, the average age of the contracting parties is 37 years , slightly higher than the Italian average (35 years). There are also differences in the duration of the loan for this type of property: in Sardinia 29 years, against a national average of 30.

Among the cities, Cagliari stands out, with 64% of green mortgages , followed by Sassari (19%) and Oristano (11%). «The data confirm the widespread desire among the younger generations to contribute to a more sustainable world through the purchase of properties with high energy standards, a desire that is made more accessible by high-loan solutions and which is particularly felt in Sardinia» , explained Roberta Brunelli, CEO and managing director of the Qualis group, «the credit proposals that allow access to mortgages over 80% of the value of a property play a central role in responding to the needs of those who decide to invest higher amount for the purchase of a green house, which can combine greater energy efficiency with positive effects on the environment».
