A Sardinian takes the helm of Ternana. Roberto Felleca, an entrepreneur from Selargius, is the new president of the red-and-green club, a historic Umbrian club that rejoined Serie D. This return to football brings a piece of Sardinia to the forefront of a vibrant city like Terni.
The corporate transaction sees Felleca enter with a 20% stake, with the option to increase to 45% in the future. The majority remains with Unicusano, led by Stefano Bandecchi, mayor of Terni and president of the Province, who confirms his intention to maintain a 55% stake. Francesco Emanuele Tonel holds a small stake, while approximately 23% remains open to new investors. Operational management began on August 3, with the first meetings to define the seasonal schedule. Felleca will be supported by Ninni Corda.
He's no rookie. As a manager, he's already led Como and Foggia, leading both teams to promotion from Serie D to Serie C: a method he champions, based on sustainable numbers and gradual growth.
"My enthusiasm immediately returned after the disappointment of a few weeks ago, and my desire to win returned," the new president explains. "I'm coming into the game with a bang, but it doesn't scare me." Regarding the championship, he is clear: "We need to immediately immerse ourselves in the reality of Serie D, a tournament that requires a battle-hardened attitude and pure competitiveness, even against less prestigious opponents."
No proclamations, though. "You'll never hear me say things like 'we'll get to Serie B,'" he warns. "I prefer to take one step at a time and keep my feet on the ground. We need to bring Ternana back to the top, but without increasing costs and the budget." The priority, he explains, is to reunite the community: "We need to get to know the city and get it to embrace the project."
He has no doubts about his relationship with Bandecchi: "I can only speak well of him; we're already on the same page. We're both pragmatic, we both want to win." And he's clear about his idea of leadership: "Anyone who knows me knows I like to make decisions: in football, as they say, two is enough."
