Sardinian politics says goodbye to Peppino Balia, who died in his home in Nuoro at the age of 79.

He was president of the group of the Federation of Democratic Socialists in the Regional Council and regional councilor for urban planning, finance and local authorities in the third council chaired by Antonello Cabras.

Originally from Mamoiada, he would have turned 80 on November 15th.

He entered the Regional Council for the first time in 1994, only to be reconfirmed in the 1999 elections. He graduated in Economics and Commerce and was also provincial councilor and vice president of the province of Nuoro.
