An evening entirely dedicated to Sardinian poetry is scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Casablanca Cinema Theater in Ossi. The event will feature the presentation of the second volume of the Ossi Sardinian Poetry Prize Anthology and the awards ceremony for the 37th "Antoni Andria Cucca" and "Pedru Muresu" Sardinian poetry competition.

The initiative, promoted by the municipal administration, renews the administration's commitment to promoting the Sardinian language and poetry as an authentic expression of Ossetian identity.

The new volume of the Anthology, produced with the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna and the Municipality of Ossi, collects the editions of the Prize held between 2010 and 2024, the 40th anniversary of the competition's foundation in 1984, inspired by an idea by Giacomo “Tiu Giagu” Muresu. The first Anthology, published in 2009, collected editions from 1984 to 2009 and paid homage to Antoni Andria Cucca (1870–1945), a great improvising poet and a central figure in twentieth-century Sardinian poetry. The second completes that journey, placing Cucca alongside Pedru Muresu (1911–2009), an author and poet known as “de taulinu,” who brought the Sardinian language into the realm of written poetry.

Mayor Pasquale Lubinu emphasized: "Usually, when we talk about public works, we think of infrastructure, a road, a school, or a building. However, there are works that, while not material, have equally great value. The two anthologies are true cultural monuments: imposing volumes that, in a certain sense, also represent public works, because they construct, preserve, and pass on our culture and our Sardinian language."

The winners - The awards ceremony for the 37th edition of the competition will also be held during the evening. First prize went to Antonio Brundu of Orani with the poem "Piantaritta," followed by Franco Piga of Romana ("Atera poesia"), Giangavino Vasco of Bortigali ("S'iscuru de sa vida"), and Gianfranco Garrucciu of Tempio Pausania ("Un'ultima poesia").

Also recognized for merit were: Pasqualina Nieddu (Macomer), Antonello Isoni (Palau), Pier Giuseppe Branca (Sassari) and Tetta Becciu (Ozieri).
